One-Punch Man is a Japanese superhero webcomic created by an author using the pseudonym One. The webcomic began publication in 2009, and in 2012 an updated version began serialization in Shueisha's Young Jump Web Comics. The story of One-Punch Man follows the life of an average hero named Saitama, who has become so powerful that he can defeat any opponent with a single punch. However, because he is so strong, Saitama has become bored with his powers and struggles to find a worthy opponent. The series is known for its comedic elements, satire of shonen manga, and action-packed fight scenes.
In 2015, One-Punch Man was adapted into an anime series which was produced by Madhouse and directed by Shingo Natsume. The anime aired from October to December 2015, and was well-received by both fans and critics. The series has also been adapted into a mobile game and a video game.
